Track 3: Nutrification

Nutrification is nothing but enriching the foods by addition of nutrients to foods at such a level as to make a major contribution to the diet. Fortification plays a major role in nutrification. Fortification is a process of adding micronutrients to food where staple foods can lack in particular nutrients due to soil of the region. Food fortification is was initiated to replace the nutrients which were lost during the product manufacturing, for public health intervention, to ensure the nutritional equivalence of substitute food and to ensure the appropriate vitamin and mineral nutrient

Track 5: Nutrigenomics

Nutrigenomics is a study of nutritional genomics which helps to identify the effects of food and food constituents on gene expression. This helps in identifying and understanding molecular-level interaction between nutrients and other dietary bioactive with the genome. Nutrigenomics influence the genetic variation on nutrition by correlating gene expression and with nutrient’s absorption, metabolism, elimination or biological effects. Generally nutrigenomics aims to enhance rational means to optimise nutrition with respect to the genotype and its aim is to develop and understand how the whole body responds to a food. The effect of single food and single gene is nutrigenomics.

Europe food container market share by 2015 (%)

The food industry in the Asia Pacific region is massive in size, and it is a key element in the economic development prospects for the region. The key building blocks in the food and beverages industry are the food flavours and enhancers and its global market size in 2016 was estimated USD 9.2 billion and is estimated to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.5% and reach nearly USD 12 billion by 2022.Growing food safety concerns in the global food markets are pressurizing manufacturing to adopt clean labels. The major restrain the industry faces is the growing awareness on the ill effects of synthetic colours which has triggered the demand for natural colours, which have high costs when compared to synthetic colours .But the stringent food standards regulations by several regulatory bodies is proving to be a constraint for manufactures, thus forcing them to look at alternatives in the form of innovations in the natural colorants. The two massive growing market for food safety testing are china and India which constitute the principal driving factors for the rapidly increasing market. Demand for food safety testing in Asia-Pacific is anticipated to register the fastest CAGR of 11% between 2018 and 2023. Meat and poultry plus Pathogen testing dominate the Asia-Pacific food safety testing market for the type of contaminant and type of food, respectively.

The global market for probiotics should grow from $34 billion in 2015 to $50 billion by 2020, demonstrating a five-year compound annual growth rate of 8%. By implementation segment, food and beverages, which held about 73% of the global market in 2015, is expected to retain its dominance during the forecast period. This segment should reach nearly $36.5 billion in 2020, demonstrating a five-year CAGR of 8.1% from 2015-2020. Growth in the food and beverage industry should key expansion in this segment. Dietary supplements as an application should reach $8.8 billion in 2020 on a five-year CAGR of 7.8% from 2015-2020. Probiotics are often consumed in the form of dietary supplements to prevent diarrhoea, constipation, and certain other infections. The estimated share of 38% in 2016 for probiotics in Asia-Pacific market is globally the largest and market maturity is expected to curtail growth prospects over the coming years, with other regions taking the lead. Within Asia-Pacific, Japan forms the largest probiotics market, with an estimated share of 45% in 2016.With a forecast CAGR of about 13.2% between 2018 and 2023 probiotics growth is in demand for is likely to be the fastest in China. By segment, human applications such as dietary supplements, functional foods & beverages and specialty nutrients dominate the probiotics market in the region. The Asia Pacific primarily drives the global market which leading all regions with an anticipated five-year CAGR of 8.3%, with should boost its market to reach $19.2 billion in 2020.

Russia’s food processing industry had been growing steadily since 1998. During 2005-2012 compound Moscow ATO annual growth rate of the industry (CAGR) totalled 165 percent. In 2013, the market analysts reported that total food production reached 4.18 trillion ($131.3 billion) with 4.2 percent increase in number of businesses and 4.5 percent growth of food production value. The highest growth was reached in meat and offal production (24.7 percent), semi-finished meat products (9.7 percent), meat and soya containing preserves (8 percent), and confectionary (5.1 percent). Russia with its 143 million people population is one of the biggest consumer markets in Europe, consuming foodstuff for about 140 billion USD. Main market groups like alcohol, meat, milk products, confectionary, fruits& vegetables altogether occupy 50% of the consumer market. Moscow along with Moscow region more than 20 billion people, with their large population are crucial cities for traders. Russia was one of the world’s largest food-importing countries having purchased more than $40 billion worth of food, beverages, and agricultural products in 2013. In Russia More than 70 percent of food processors purchase their raw materials for manufacturing food products from abroad. The massive state programme for import substitution was launched by the Russian government last year in response to economic sanctions imposed on Russia by the USA. When it comes to Russia always Moscow remains the obvious first choice for a representative office where many food processing companies and representative offices of foreign and regional food companies are concentrated. The volume of production in the manufacture of Food production-2.952 trillion rubles.

Europe Turnover:

Why Moscow?

Moscow is the capital and most populous city of Russia. When it comes to Russia always Moscow remains the obvious first choice for a representative office where many food processing companies and representative offices of foreign and regional food companies are concentrated. Moscow is a major political, economic, cultural, and scientific centre of Russia and Eastern Europe, as well as the largest city entirely on the European continent. And it is also the one of the world’s largest city and 14th largest metro area, the 18th largest agglomeration, the 15th largest urban area, and the 11th largest by population within city limits worldwide.

Moscow food processing industry had been growing rapidly since 1998 with an annual increase 15-25%. Moscow food processing industry has been growing rapidly in recent years, as the huge market potential and rather undeveloped sector boosts local production but attracts also foreign investors. Some of the world’s largest food and beverage manufacturers, such as Mars, Coca-Cola and Nestle, have been interested in Russian markets.

Russia is currently applying for a membership in the World Trade Organization. The highly desired membership will bring various benefits to the Russian economy and it will have a Northern Dimension Research Centre.
